Starting Your First Interview Session
Learn how to start and make the most of your first AI Interview Assistant session.
This guide will walk you through using the AI Interview Assistant for your interview practice sessions.
Before You Begin
Make sure you have:
- A working microphone and speakers/headphones
- An account with active credits (1 credit = 60 minutes)
- A quiet environment with minimal background noise
- A modern browser (Chrome recommended for best screen sharing experience)
Step 1: Access the Interview Session
- Log in to your account
- From your dashboard, click on Start Session in the menu
- You'll be directed to the Interview Assistant page
- Verify your remaining credit time shown in the top right corner
Step 2: Set Up Screen Sharing
The screen sharing feature allows you to practice presenting your portfolio, code, or other materials during your interview.
- Click the Interview Screenshare section on the left side of the screen
- Click the Share Screen button
- Select the content you want to share:
- Entire Screen (recommended for most interviews)
- Application Window (to focus on a specific application)
- Browser Tab (useful for portfolio websites or online coding environments)
- Important: Check the "Share audio" option if you want to capture audio from your screen (e.g., for a video portfolio)
- Click "Share" to begin screen sharing
Step 3: Capturing Interview Questions
When the interviewer asks a question, you need to capture it for the AI to generate a response:
- Click the Listen button when the interviewer begins asking a question
- The system will start transcribing the audio from your microphone or screen share
- When the question is complete, click Stop Listening
- The transcribed question will appear in the "Interview Transcript" section
- The AI will automatically begin generating a suggested answer
Step 4: Viewing AI-Generated Answers
After capturing a question:
- The AI will process the question and generate an appropriate answer
- The answer will appear in the "AI Generated Answer" section on the right
- You can use this as a reference for how to structure your own response
Step 5: Manually Entering Questions
If you prefer to type questions instead of using voice capture:
- Scroll to the bottom of the "AI Generated Answer" section
- Type your question in the text field
- Press Enter or click the send button
- The AI will generate an answer for your typed question
Best Practices
- Prepare Questions: Have a list of interview questions ready to practice with
- Time Management: Watch your remaining credit time to make the most of your session
- Review Answers: Take notes on the AI-generated answers for future reference
- Practice Speaking: Try responding to questions before looking at the AI answer
- Mixed Approach: Use both voice and typed questions to practice different scenarios
Session End
Your session will continue until:
- You navigate away from the page
- Your credits run out (you'll see a notification)
- You close the browser tab
You can always return to continue practicing as long as you have available credits.
